Julie McFarlane calls the Pacific Northwest home. She grew up in Salem, Oregon outside of the Portland area and attended Pacific Lutheran University in Washington State. Julie received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with concentrations in both Human Resource Management and Marketing.
Julie’s hotel career began with Sheraton ITT in the Seattle area. She moved around the Pacific Northwest at various hotels in Seattle and Boise. Julie became the Director of Catering & Convention Services for a large, AAA four diamond golf resort in Oregon, where she stayed for over eight years, before starting her recruiting career with MHR, Inc. Julie enjoys recruiting for all positions and all levels at the property level and corporate level. Outside of work, Julie enjoys time spent with family, hiking and gardening.

James McFarlane was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He attended the University of Oregon and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Leisure Studies and Services. James started his Sales hospitality career with Red Lion Hotels, first in Portland, then in Southern California. James moved to Central Oregon and was with Sunriver Resort (managed by Destination Hotels and Resorts) for over thirteen years. James held the position of Director of Group Sales at this beautiful four-diamond golf & spa resort, eventually moving into a Regional Sales Director role for Destination Hotels.
James joint MHR over 17 years and recruits for all management and upper management hospitality positions at the resort/hotel property level and within hospitality corporate offices.
Outside of work, James enjoys family time, cooking, University of Oregon Duck Football and playing the many golf courses here in Central Oregon.
